BookCove

BookCove is a collection of stories from the pulp magazines of the 1910s through 1930, newly transcribed from the original issues. They are in the public domain in the United States, free to read online or download as EPUB or plain text.

Dear BookCove readers,

If you’ve been here before, you’ll see that BookCove looks very different. I’ve rebuilt it from the ground up. The old site ran on a database, with search and several ways to browse. The new one is deliberately simple: each author has one page, arranged by series, and each story has its own page where you can download the EPUB, read it online, or get the plain text.

This new design is intended to make the site’s stories more approachable. It is no longer just a bucket full of stories.

Your old bookmarks and links won’t work anymore. Everything is reachable from this page, so start here and follow the links.

Many stories transcribed for BookCove are found only here. Others have since been posted to Project Gutenberg, so if a story you remember isn’t here, look for it there. If you still can’t find it, or something doesn’t work, please let me know at sharp.cliff3892@fastmail.com.

Thank you for reading.
